At Spavia, your comfort, safety, and results come first. Certain treatments may have specific considerations. Please review the information below and consult with your Spavia team prior to your treatment if you have any questions, medical conditions, are pregnant, or are unsure whether a treatment is right for you.

Before You Schedule Your Massage

Your comfort and well-being are important to us. Most guests can safely enjoy massage, but there are some situations when massage should be postponed.

Please postpone your massage if you:

Are in the first trimester of pregnancy
Have a fever or a contagious or infectious illness
Are currently under the influence of alcohol or recreational drugs
Are currently undergoing cancer treatment
Have a serious, acute or unstable heart condition

Have another health condition or concern?

Many health conditions do not prevent you from enjoying massage but may require adjustments to your treatment. Please share any health changes, medications, recent procedures, injuries, allergies or sensitivities on your guest forms and with your massage therapist.

Pregnant?

Massage may be enjoyed beginning in the second trimester with our Maternity Massage. Expecting mothers in their first trimester can still relax and enjoy one of our facial treatments. Please contact the spa if you have questions about the right treatment for you.

Before Your Facial

To ensure the best and safest experience, please let us know about any medications, recent cosmetic procedures, pregnancy or changes in your skin or health before your treatment.

Please keep these important precautions in mind:

Accutane: Must be discontinued for at least 1 year before skincare treatments.
Retinol/Vitamin A: Discontinue 7 days before and after your facial.
AHAs, BHAs + Benzoyl Peroxide: Discontinue 72 hours before your facial.
Waxing/Depilatories: Avoid 7 days before and after.
Recent Injectables, Peels, Laser, Microneedling or Cosmetic Procedures: Healing times vary. Please follow your provider's recommendations or contact us before scheduling.
Sunburn or Significant Skin Irritation: Please wait until your skin has fully healed.

Pregnant or Breastfeeding?

You can still enjoy many of our facial treatments! Some products and modalities may need to be avoided or modified, so please let us know when scheduling.

Before Your Lash or Brow Treatment

To ensure the best and safest results, please review these important considerations before scheduling your lash extensions, lash lift, lash or brow tint, or brow lamination.

Active Eye Infection or Inflammation: Please postpone your treatment if you have an active eye infection, inflammation or significant irritation around the eye area.
Eye Surgery: Lash and brow treatments cannot be performed within 2 months of LASIK or 6–12 months following cosmetic/reconstructive eye surgery.
Allergies & Sensitivities: Please let us know about previous reactions to lash/brow treatments, adhesives, hair color or similar products before your appointment.
Recent Facial Treatments: If you've recently had a peel, microdermabrasion or laser treatment, please let us know before your appointment.
Contact Lenses: Contacts must be removed before lash treatments.

Patch Testing

A patch test is available for lash and brow treatments; however, a patch test cannot guarantee that an allergic reaction will not occur.
