3 ways to prevent dry chapped lips from wearing a face mask

Wearing a face mask can be cause dry irritated and chapped lips. Lip treatments can restore the moisture in your lips and prevent future lip issues.

During the day when you’re out and about, and you’re wearing a required face mask, your mouth and lips are covered. One of the things that happens to me is that I get a dry throat. Sometimes It may even feel like a sore throat, but as soon as I drink some water the symptoms go away and I’m fine.

But the lingering effect is I have really dry lips. And I think that part of the problem is that I have been wearing the required face mask for sometimes hours at a time. First the problem is there is trapped warm, moist breath that surrounding your lips that cannot escape. and second, I’m not wearing the lip balm or the lip gloss or the hydrating lip treatments I typically do because I don’t want it up against my mask.

Here are a 3 treatment options  that you can use to fight the dry, chapped lips caused by wearing a face mask.

  1. Lip Polish or Lip Scrub
  2. Lip Treatment
  3. Lip Mask

When you’re at home, morning and night, make sure you are hydrating your lips with a premium quality lip treatment.

Step 1, use a lip scrub or a lip polish if your lips are already chapped. This is remove the dry skin on your lips and get them primed to receive a lip treatment to rehydrate your lips.  We have several options in the spa boutique. I recommend the Farmhouse Fresh Goods Blackberry Wine lip polish.

It smells absolutely delicious wild berries. I love blackberries. Be careful not to eat it when you put it on because it tastes so good.

Put a nice thick coat on your lips. You can even put it a little bit above your lips. I do that just because I’m trying to eliminate any potential lines that may appear around my lip. Leave on 5 minutes then remove with a wet cloth.

The Farmhouse Fresh Goods lip polish gently exfoliates any dead skin that’s on your lips. And it really does help and provides for a beautiful hydrated, smooth surface so that you can apply your lip balm or your lipstick or your lip gloss afterwards.

Step 2. If you’re looking to restore the hydration in your lips with a mega boost, I highly recommend the Image Skincare Ormedic Lip Enhancement.  I fell in love with this lip treatment the very first time I tried it and haven’t gone a day without it.  I have not found another product that instantly rehydrates and plumps my lips so dramatically and instantly as the Image Skincare Ormedic Lip Enhancement.

It has a really nice shear pink tint to it. I recommend you use this at night and bring it above your actual lip to just treat those fine lines. And if you do get lip filler injections, this is also an excellent product to use on your lips.

When you’re at home, morning and night, make sure you are hydrating your lips with a premium quality lip treatment like the Ormedic Lip Enhancement.
